A Different Kind of Pink

We are developing a new campaign together with Breast Cancer Action ( where we wish to unfold important information about the 'other side' of Breast Cancer 'Awareness' now that the pink month is around the corner.

Our campaign consists of streamlining the importance of fighting cancer and living toxin-free while sharing this information with as many loved ones as possible. Of course, we can only do this with YOUR help.  If you or someone you know has cancer, then please let us know.  Pink Horizons is committed to taking a serious stand for all of us. Join us and start wearing and supporting a Different Kind of Pink.

Our campaign consists of various activities during the month of October.

How to treat cancer clients in a spa setting

The Pink Team wrote an article in a leading spa magazine, Dermascope, where we speak to spa professionals about various techniques for treating clients suffering through cancer, and how they can positively impact their road to recovery. If you are a spa professional, please read this important article here and leave us your questions and comments – we would love to hear from you.

Pink Horizons will also have a web banner on the Dermascope website, where it will direct visitors to the campaign, for the purpose of educating our professionals on the importance of using truly toxin-free products not only on cancer patients, but on everyone who visits them.

Fashion Shirts with a Bold Statement

One of the components of this campaign is selling black fashion v-neck soft-cotton spun t-shirts with the following statement that was voted on by our Pink Fans: It takes more than a pink ribbon to fight cancer.’

On the back of the shirt there is a QR (Quick Response) code that leads visitors to information from multiple reliable sources in order to generate a different kind of conversation on improving our fight to end cancer by helping us to educate our families, friends, and coworkers on the causes of cancer and how PREVENTION is our greatest weapon against the disease. We believe it’s time to support a Different Kind of Pink. Together we can stop ‘walking’, and start flying.

Several members of our local community have already pre-ordered their shirts.  Pink Horizons has NO interest in making money off of these shirts. Our mission is for this message to reach as many people as possible.  ALL of the profits are going to Breast Cancer Action, our partner organization, who leads the fight against pinkwashing, holding corporations accountable for their products and practices and advocating for legislation and policies to ensure the public's health. Pre-order cost is $10. After October 1st the price of each t-shirt will be $12. Sizes available are S, M, and L. If you would like to pre-order, please send us $10 via Paypal at and make sure to add your size in the comment box. Order yours today, while we still have them. We ARE going to run out!

Screening of Pink Ribbons, Inc.

Breast cancer has become the poster child of corporate cause-related marketing campaigns. Countless women and men walk, bike, climb and shop for the cure. Each year, millions of dollars are raised in the name of breast cancer, but where does this money go and what does it actually achieve? Pink Ribbons, Inc. is a feature documentary that shows how the devastating reality of breast cancer, which marketing experts have labeled a "dream cause," becomes obfuscated by a shiny, pink story of success. Written by The National Film Board of Canada

We will be screening this film in conjunction with the Women's Center at Florida International University on October 11th at 7:30pm in the Graham Center, room 140. For those who wish to help us out and volunteer for the event, please send us an email at

Spectators in Black-n-Pink

Some of our passionate fans and all members of the Pink Team will be attending Komen’s ‘Race for the Cure’ on October 20th at Bayfront Park in Downtown, Miami as a Spectator in black and pink.  We will only be attending to watch the event and to quietly advocate the importance of Komen's supporters in questioning their policies and practices. We want to give breast cancer awareness supporters a helpful hand in using their discretion when donating their time, energy, and money to organizations that claim to have their best interest. We will not be supporting the walk, and for those that still do not understand why, please allow us to explain.

We would like to peacefully attend to demonstrate that we care and are aware that we must change our ways in order to obtain better results. What do we mean? Year after year, more and more funds go toward researching for a cure yet, year after year, cancer continues to increase. Does that make any sense?  Let us make a stand against corporations that exploit and use the suffering of so many victims as a means of increasing profit.  The more we are, the more impact we will cause. So we urge you to join us in supporting a Different Kind of Pink.

Florida International University’s Pink Football Game

We have been asked to host FIU’s Pink Conference Football Game on October 27th against Western Kentucky.  As FIU Alumni members, the Pink Team is honored to be the hosting company for such a major event. The game is in support of breast cancer awareness and offers students and the community a chance to learn more about the causes of cancer and prevention techniques by visiting with companies and organizations that are committed to educating the public and providing services that benefit the local community. If you are in the South Florida area, come out and join us during the pre-game tailgate event and be there to try out our latest toxin-free product which we will be giving away for free.  Stay tuned for tent location and time.

Buy the shirt, attend the documentary, support us at FIU’s Pink Conference Game, and make a stand at the Komen walk.  Share this with everyone you know. We, Pink Horizons, will be right there with you!
